Established in 1971 as electrical contractors and engineers
by David Bennett and Cyril Hext (deceased), the company grew steadily
and went on to incorporate a complimentary plumbing and heating
engineering section over 20 years ago. We are now a successful local
company currently employing a staff of 24 people with an annual
turnover in excess of £1.5 million.
Today, the company is headed by General Manager, Richard
Barter, is proud that it can still offer small and large customers
alike, an efficient and friendly service. It can handle large contracts
in excess of £150,000 while still remaining very competitive
for small contracts with a minimum charge of only £50.00 plus
VAT. Its work includes anything from repairing a fuse to re-washering
taps or even re-wiring large industrial premises and country houses.
The company is a registered contractor with many insurance helplines.
The Electrical Section - is equipped to deal with every kind of electrical work from industrial, agricultural and domestic to computer data cabling installation, fire alarm, emergency lighting and security, together with general maintenance. We also can carry out Portable Appliance Testing.
The Plumbing and Heating Section - is equipped to deal with every kind of plumbing work from general maintenance to installations, gas or oil fired central heating including servicing. Bathroom and kitchen refurbishment and leadwork are a specialty.

The Building Section -
was formed to compliment the other sections and to ensure that a full package can be provided when carrying out the modernisation of offices, kitchens, bathrooms, etc.

Like all good companies, it continually strives to offer the best service in the area, updating and adapting to change whenever necessary and has a continuing commitment to provide the highest standard of workmanship to its current and potential customers. Over the years Bennett & Dean has built up a good working relationship with both private and commercial customers in the Salisbury area and also throughout the South of England. English Heritage, The National Trust and the Wiltshire County Council regularly place new contracts with the company.
